I am so envious of educators who are able to harness their own emotional intelligence, passion, vulnerability, and empathy to influence the trajectory of young men's lives like this. It takes a special charisma and ability to connect that doesn't come naturally to everyone. Ashanti is leading truly important work, maybe some of the most important as we hit the halfway point of the 21st Century. We failed our boys at some point along the way. We failed to give them the real emotionally intelligent skills they need to navigate an ever-evolving, more connected society. I have tried to do this work in my own school district through a similar model, but certainly never met this level of success. I am excited to be able to learn more about The Ever-Forward Club. They are absolutely changing the world the best way we all can - by tending to their part of the sidewalk (something I wrote about a couple of weeks ago that helps me to clarify for myself what I can do to add positivity to the world when everything feels under attack). Thanks for amplifying this, Christopher!
