We are quickly moving to a situation reminiscent of Nineteen Eighty-Four, where the government tries to control what people know. I'm heartened by two things: first, states still running as democracies (which unfortunately excludes states where Republicans are in control) are still putting information where everyone can find it. And second, even in Nineteen Eighty-Four, everyone knew that "double plus ungood" simply meant bad. I saw a news segment in which a Trump-voting teacher in a Southern welfare state expressed surprise that she was about to lose 30% of her budget. When they kill the education department. She will wake up one morning soon and realize that double plus ungood just means bad!
Thanks Christopher for sharing this!
